Landmark Park's office will be closed on September 3 for Labor Day. Grounds only will be open for regular hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.). No Planetarium shows will take place on Labor Day. Martin Drugstore and Interpretive Center will be closed. 



THROUGH LABOR DAY • BLUE STAR MUSEUM PARTICIPATION Active military and up to five family members can receive free admission to Landmark Park. Must present a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID) or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card. Sponsored by Army Aviation Federal Credit Union.


 


THROUGH DECEMBER • JOHNNY MACK BROWN EXHIBIT Interpretive Center Lobby. View costumes, publications, photos and other memorabilia from Hometown Hollywood Hero Johnny Mack Brown. Free with paid gate admission.


 


ONGOING • PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT Landmark Park members and volunteers Larry and Patti Puckett will present a special photography exhibit in the Interpretive Center Auditorium. Photos were taken at Landmark Park and across the state of Alabama. Free with paid gate admission.


 


ONGOING • REGISTRATION FOR 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR  Classroom and Homeschool teachers are invited to visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com to download the Teacher Guide and register for field trips during the 2018-19 school year. Programs meet state standards for education. New exclusive homeschool programming is available.




SEPTEMBER 1; OCTOBER 6; NOVEMBER 3 • WIREGRASS WOODTURNER MEETING 9:30 a.m. Open to the public, free with paid gate admission and free for Wiregrass Woodturner members. Woodturning demonstrations will take place. Ag Building.



 



SEPTEMBER 1; OCTOBER 6; NOVEMBER 3 • LANDMARK DULCIMER CLUB 1 p.m. Jam session and lesson. No experience or music reading ability necessary. Must have a mountain dulcimer. Free with paid gate admission. 



 



SEPTEMBER 2; OCTOBER 7; NOVEMBER 4 • REPTILE FEEDING 4 p.m. Meet our snakes and turtles and learn why these animals are so important to the environment. Free with paid gate admission.  Interpretive Center Classroom.



 



OCTOBER 13 • BLACKSMITHING DEMO 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (with a break for lunch). Interactive blacksmithing demonstration, taking place at the Blacksmith Shop on the Wiregrass Farmstead. Handmade items for sale. Free with paid gate admission. (No demo in September)



 



SEPTEMBER 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, OCTOBER 6 • JOHNNY MACK BROWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. Landmark Park will celebrate Dothan native and Western film star Johnny Mack Brown’s 114th birthday during the month of September with a double feature from the serial “Fighting With Kit Carson.” Great for all ages! Each movie lasts about 30 minutes. Interpretive Center Auditorium. Free with paid gate admission, plus free popcorn.
