Statement From Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum on Level Plains Murder

On Friday, May 12th, at approximately 9:15PM Dale County Deputies responded to the 1700 Blk of CR-24 in Level Plains in reference to a report of shots being fired in the area.
While en route Ozark-Dale County E911 upgraded the call and advised responding deputies that one subject was suffering from a gunshot wound and was in critical condition.
When Deputies arrived they located a female with a gunshot wound to her upper body inside the residence. Enterprise Rescue transported the victim to Flowers Hospital where she was pronounced deceased on arrival.
The victim has been identified as 55 year-old, Lisa Griffin, of Enterprise.
Investigators are still processing the evidence but it appears that multiple rounds were fired into the residence by the suspect(s). The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating the person(s) responsible.
