WIREGRASS AREA - BAY COUNTY, JACKSON COUNTY FL, HOUSTON COUNTY AL:
Please stay off the roadways on Thursdays. There is a lot of damage, trees down and debris to be removed. Clean up crews, to include electrical crews are working tonight and will hit the roads working Thursday morning.
DO NOT get on the roads. Many roads where there are trees across the roads and low hanging wires.
Please stay off the roads.
In Jackson County Florida, the county has been hit hard. Jackson County Sheriff Department office was hit hard and part of the roof was removed. The 911 system was damaged as well as the radio system. Please be patient with them.
In Bay County, a huge amount of damage. The Emergency Operations Center was severally damaged. A lot of destruction.
PATIENCE is needed.
HOUSTON COUNTY AL:
A lot of damage to the roadways, trees down and power lines down. DO NOT touch anything with power lines in it. Do not assume the power is off just because the power is off to the structure.
Utility crews are working. You do not have to report the power outage over and over and over again.
The crews are working as hard as they can.
The emergency system, Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah in partnership with all emergency workers, utility workers, VOAD, 211, hospitals, area leaders, all Police Chief's across Houston County-to include but not limited to Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and department, all fire departments across this county to include Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams, all EMS providers across this county...job well done.
