COTTONWOOD AL:       The recreation board for the people who live in the county is the parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors.

This Sunday alternoon the players and coaches of travel ball arrived at the Cottonwood Ball Park On DHODGE ROad off State Line Road for a afternoon game.

Our nephew, Ben Coskrey, plays for a travel ball team as does Dothan Fire Caprain Todd Phillips son.

While Ben was playing ball Uncle Mark and Cousin Jack Coskrey take the time to work with my grandson ( Mark’s nephew and Jack’s cousin ) Brantley Bradley.

Brantley is 5 years old and plays T-Ball. He never meets a stranger.

Mark and Jack begin working with Brantley. The first item is to get a 5 year old to pay attention and focus. Mark and Jack worked with Brantley on his stance, holding the bat, his form and swing. Turn your hips.

Brantley did good hitting some balls from the T-ball holder. After instructions from Mark and Jack he was able to connect with the ball fairly consistent. Then Mark tossed some balls for him to hit. Not quite as well but in time he will get there.

Mark was sitting on a 5 gallon bucket with balls in front of him. He was placing them on the t-ball holder. One swing Brantley missed the ball but connected with Mark’s knee. That was not good.

After some time hitting Jack and Mark worked with Brantley some on catching the ball. Also extremely difficult to get the 5 year old to concentrate. But they made strides in teaching Brantley what to do.

PAW PAW ain’t no help.

After a little while Brantley was ready to go. He thanked his Uncle Mark Coskrey and Cousin Jack COskrey for taking their time in working with him.

THANKS for working with him.
