I am Amy Bonds, and I am running for the Dothan City School Board District 5 position. I have been involved in the Dothan City School system for 12 years. I have answered the call to serve, volunteer, and contribute in any way I can over the last 12 years. I am married to my husband, Bret Bonds, and we have one wonderful son, Cody.  I feel it is MY time to serve the community and our children in an increased capacity.

What can I offer the school board?

I can promise that I will give EVERY child, EVERY family, and EVERY teacher equal representation. I will be open and AVAILABLE to the students, parents, and teachers of District 5 and I will always be open and upfront in my decision making.  When issues arise, you can count on me to keep you informed. I will bring a common sense approach to problem solving and will always keep our children first while representing District 5.

If fortunate enough to receive your vote and become elected, I am ready to meet with teachers and administrators so that I can hear the needs and concerns of each school. I believe that without physically going into the schools and SEEING THE ISSUES FIRSTHAND, there is no way to adequately address them. I believe when the board, teachers, students, and administrators are all contributing and working together, our children will truly benefit. I have the TIME, ENERGY, and PASSION to SERVE, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to do so.

I believe the children in Dothan City Schools are this city's future, and that is why I am COMMITTED to ensuring that they receive the highest quality education they deserve. I am ready to hit the ground running day one and get to work with the school board to make the necessary changes and decisions to help lead Dothan City Schools into the future.

Through my involvement over the past 12 years, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many people in our community. Over the past 2 months campaigning, you have shared your concerns and expressed that the needs of the children should be put first. You want to be heard, and you want to know exactly what is happening within the school system. You want to know how and why decisions are being made that affect your children.

I completely agree and PLEDGE TO PUT YOUR CHILDREN FIRST in every decision I make.
