On July 20th, 2018 at approximately 9:19pm, officers with the Marianna Police Department were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person, in the area of Distribution Drive. The caller advised, they had witnessed the subject possibly tampering with heavy equipment, which had been left on location by Anderson Columbia Paving and Asphalt Services.
Upon officer arrival, the equipment was checked and a subject matching the description of what officers were provided was located in close proximity.
Upon contact with the subject, officers attempted to identify the subject at which time they were provided false information by the individual, in an effort to conceal his identity. Officers were able to later ascertain the correct name for the subject was Grady Allan Sullivan of Marianna.
The officers then proceeded to take Sullivan into custody with Sullivan resisting their efforts. After placing Sullivan under arrest, a search of the area where he had been sitting was searched due to Sullivan attempting to remove items from his person and discard them. This search resulted in Crack Cocaine and associated paraphernalia being recovered.
During the course of the investigation it was also discovered that Sullivan is also a registered Sexual Predator and he had failed to properly register as in accordance to Florida Statute.
Grady Allan Sullivan was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on the above mentioned charges.
