DOTHAN:     Thanks to Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central - Downtown ), Pilcher Ambulance Service and Flowers Hospital for Friday. Also thanks to Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams for his personal response to check on things.

On Friday my staff called that Marsha went to get out of her car and fell back against the car. The staff ran to her and sit her down in the car. She was about to pass out.

Dothan 911 was called and emergency units responded. A great crew responded, took control and took great acre of her.

One of the medics was one that we have watched grown up, Dalton Quattlebaum. He calmed Marsha, started IV’s, checked her blood pressure, and transported her on Pilcher Ambulance to Flowers Hospital.

At Flowers Hospital, immediate attention to her. They checked her over very thoroughly.

Since December Marsha has been experiencing some severe medical issues. She stayed in CCU at Flowers Hospital for several days. Has been diagnosed as a diabetic and required to take shots.

Don’t want to put a lot of her medical information out there. BUt do want to ask for prayers for her. She is having some tough days as she fights this health battle battle.

Dothan - Houston County is blessed with some great emergency medical units all over this county.

Dothan Fire answers over 15,000 medical and fire calls a year. They never hesitate to offer advanced life support to surrounding Houston County EMS units or out of town EMS needed advanced life support to intercept and assist.

In Houston County, outside the city limits of Dothan, the volunteer EMS, Volunteer Fire, Pilcher Ambulance outside the city limits of Dothan and Headland Rescue in Kinsey area, are dispatched to almost 7,000 calls last year.

They do a fantastic job.

There are tremendous issues at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. They are constantly on diversion. The 13 member hospital board brought in Rick Sutton as Chief Executive Officer. Sutton is above the community and has no interaction with the community so we do not know know what is going on other than they are always on diversion.

The 13 member board is headed by Chester Sowell ( 334-798-3601 ). None of the board members will make Sutton sit down and talk to get he message out. They are all terrified of him.

The Board is suppose to be over Sutton but Sutton has the Board convinced he is over them.

SAMC is currently the weak link in the medical system for Dothan — Houston County.

Some will tell you I am full of ——-, but my words to them...PROVE It!!
