The National Peanut Festival Pageant “Finals” that was scheduled for 6pm on Saturday, October 7 has been moved up to 1pm, Saturday. The “5 hour earlier” pageant will allow those in attendance to have an opportunity to safely travel home before any possible weather would effect this area.
After discussions with Pageant Director Janet Hughes, Pageant Security, Dothan Civic Center Director -Marshall Perry, local experts and data from the National Weather Service, it was decided to change the start time so that our outlying area Queens, their families and friends will have plenty of time to get situated after the Pageant. Please pay attention to changing weather conditions.
The famous National Peanut Festival Pageant begins tonight at 6pm and pageant finals begin tomorrow at the new time of 1pm. The National Peanut Festival, the nation's largest peanut festival, is held in Dothan, Alabama each fall to honor local peanut farmers and to celebrate the harvest season. This year, 38 area Queens will compete for the title of Miss National Peanut Festival
