This Has Been The Week Of Threats

This week.... has been the week for threats. It started because of the livestream when a 15 year old gunned down a 18 year old at Wiregrass Park. Some took offense to the livestream where the Dothan Fire Department were attempting to do all they could to to save this young man's life.

The video was captured from a distance. There was no way anyone could identify the person who had been shot. It showed the Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance Service frantically working to save this young man.

When the medical units arrived at the hospital a large crowd appeared. Multiple Dothan Police Officers had to stand almost shoulder to shoulder to block the entrance into the emergency room. Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had to dispatch additional deputies to assist.

About 7 Dothan Police Officers stretched across the doors of SAMC Emergency Department. There were many more staged around SAMC, to include Houston County Sheriff Deputies.

The departments called in off duty officers to assist with the crowd control.

RSN knew the victim's mother was inside the Emergency Department. Some brief video was taken of the crowd and the law enforcement. The drew the ire of some people and I received many cussing and threats.

The reason this video was shown... instead of the officers being on the streets looking and searching for the murder suspect(s), the officers had to remain at the hospital. Remain in an effort to control the situation allowing the medical services all the ample security needed in order for an effort to save this young man's life.

All the while the hospital had to patients earlier in the day that were "trauma patients" from motor vehicle accidents. And the patients entering and exiting the hospital for other medical reasons needed to be and feel safe.

The videos were not taken in an effort to exploit anyone or anyone's grief. But they were taken and posted in an effort to display reality of what often times happens.

And thanks for the all the threats passed towards me. Threats towards me because I covered the news of what was happening and reported it.

But to the family, none of the coverage was done to cause you embarrassment, heartache or to be rude. But to show what happen and is happening.

Perhaps, and we might never know, what was seen might turn a person around and save a life.

When RSN posted the article of the Ozark Fire we asked anyone with information concerning the fire or scene pictures to please send them to myself or Matt. My cell phone number got posted one number off.

Matt text me to call . I called. The person told me the fire was a private matter, none of my business and started cussing at me.

I was headed to the lake. But that cussing intrigued me. So I turned and went to 163 Troy Street in Ozark and took some pictures and sought information on what was going on.

While on the scene I called the number and saw the person answer.

I do not mind you calling me. My number is 334-790-1729.

But when you cuss me that makes it different. I detoured from going to the lake just to travel to Ozark and get scene pictures.

And see, a good article resulted. And that was Ozark EMS saving a puppy.

THANK YOU FOR CALLING AND CUSSING ME. Because I was not physically traveling to the scene until you called and cussed me. I then detoured.

Because of your call I was able to recognize two Ozark EMS for their success in CPR and oxygen of a dog that was overcome with smoke inhalation.

So THANKS for the cussing.

NOTE:The phone has been removed due to him calling and Apologizing for his actions...
