WICKSBURG:    Tonight men and women volunteers of Wicksburg Fire - Rescue came together for their meeting and celebration.

The meeting was discussion of Wicksburg Fire - Rescue business.

The celebration was to honor and recognize three young men. These young men, Broc Collins, Kevin Stewart, and Hunter Trawick who are graduating Wicksburg High School. These three also graduated from Wicksburg Fire - Rescue Junior Fire Program to that of a Wicksburg Volunteer Fireman.

The Junior Fire Program is where young people can become a part of the department at age 14. But they can not go to the fires. At age 16 they can go to the fires under certain circumstances but can not enter the "hot zone". That is the area of danger.

Tonight as they graduate high school the fire department celebrated with gifts, cakes, food, and fellowship. One item the Volunteer Fire Department presented the three members, the Holy Bible. The cover is made from an old fire suit.

Wicksburg Volunteer Fire Chief Wanda Andress said they try to get young people interested in the volunteer fire service. From age 14 and up they begin teaching them duties and responsibilities of the fire - rescue service and to create interest when old enough to begin full service.

Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah was also at tonight's meeting. Judah wanted to be a part of the celebration of these three young men graduating up the ladder.

Congratulations to these three young men who want to give back to their community.
