Even though Cakes For Copeland just ended we will be starting another cake fundraiser very very soon for a precious 16 year old who was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer.

I know many of you just donated for Copeland and because of you it raised over $13,500 and maybe some of you just don’t need another cake or need to donate again this soon.

With 2 children in college I certainly understand having a tight budget.

But how can I say “ No “ to a mother who is unable to work as much as she use too because she’s staying with her son each week at children’s hospital.

Yes the father is trying to work as much as he can but unless you’ve been in the shoes of a parent with a child that’s been diagnosed with a deadly disease, it’s very hard to comprehend how hard it is to get by financially.

Medical bills keep piling up ( and no insurance DOES NOT PAY IT ALL!! )
Travel expenses and YES... lack of income from being unable to work.

Since I first started cake fundraisers for children 5 years ago
( Cake’s For Cody was the very first one ) I have never taken one dime out for expenses and in case you don’t know it costs about $9.00 to make a cake. Well multiply that times 240 cake’s!! It takes a lot of money to do a fundraiser and still not one dime is deducted for expenses.

Fortunately people have helped by donating supplies to make them and many who help me bake cakes don’t ask for reimbursements.

That’s their way of donating and their way of helping❤️

The Cakes For Children has grown now to over $214,000 that has been raised for 15 children since it began for Cody Hayes and I get many request to help others but I’ve had to say no on some occasions because of the expense.

As I said We just finished Cakes for Copeland this week and already starting another one in just a few days and 2 other families have been mentioned to me who also badly need our help.

So starting March 1, 2019 since we do not take any money out for expenses I am going to start retaining 25% of the total amount raised from Cake fundraisers to be used for emergency donations for children with deadly diseases or severe medical issues who are in dire need and there’s no time to bake cakes for them.

Every amount held out from fundraisers will be publicly announced and every dollar of that money that is donated will also be publicly announced so that YOU will know where 100% of your donation went.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to make CAKES FOR CHILDREN...so successful.
