Touch A Truck Rolls into Landmark Park

On May 5 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Kids of all ages will have a chance to see over 50 big trucks up close and learn about their uses at the annual Touch A Truck event at Landmark Park. Along with the vehicles on display from local companies, representatives will be on site to teach kids about safety. Refreshments will be available.
A "quiet hour" for children who are sensitive to loud noises will take place from 10 a.m.-11 a.m.
Admission to Touch A Truck is $7 for adults, $5 for kids and free for children 2 and under and for park members. Touch A Truck is sponsored by WDHN, The Joy 94.3 FM, Bedsole Ice Cream, Holland Manufacturing, Coffman International, Martin Environmental, Smoothie King and Houston County Farm City Committee. Landmark Park is a 135-acre natural science and history museum located on the outskirts of Dothan. Features of the park include nature trails, a planetarium, playground, picnic areas, an elevated boardwalk, a turn-of-the-century farmstead with sheep, chickens, cows and other farm animals and crops typical of an 1890s farm. In addition, the park includes a drugstore with operating soda fountain, one-room school, general store, and historic church, all preserved from the surrounding area. The park is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Regular admission is $4 adults, $3 for children and is free for park members and children age 2 and under.
