Traffic Stop Lands a Altha Man in Jail on Drug Charges

On March 14, 2018 a Deputy Sheriff with the Uniform Patrol Division was on patrol in the area of Magnolia Road in Marianna, Florida. While on patrol the Deputy observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon the Deputy making contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Clenney, it was discovered that he did not possess a driver's license. During the traffic stop consent was granted by Clenney for a search of the vehicle.
The consesual search of the vehicle revealed items of drug paraphernalia conducive with those used to inhale illegal narcotics into the body. Under the front driver's seat a clear jewelery style “baggie” was recovered. The baggie contained a quantity of a crystalized substance that was presumed to be methamphetamine. The substance was field tested which returned favorable results that the substance was methamphetamine.
It was later discovered and confirmed that Clenney was on active State Probation out of Calhoun County, Florida.
At the conclusion of the traffic stop Joshua Clenney was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
