Traffic Stop Lands Atleast One in Jail on Drug Charges

During the early hours of January 10, 2019, a deputy with the uniformed patrol division observed a white Blazer travelling west on Lafayette Street inside Marianna City Limits. The Blazer did not have a license plate displayed. The deputy conducted a probable cause traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Wynn Street.
Upon contact with the occupants, consent was granted for the deputy to conduct a search of the vehicle. During the search, a small container was located on one of the passengers in the vehicle. The container had a small amount of methamphetamine inside.
The passenger, identified as Katie Armstrong, was arrested for the methamphetamine and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
