On 01/19/2019 at approximately 9:04 P.M. an officer with the Marianna Police Department observed a gray in color, 2003 GMC pickup truck, traveling East on Lafayette Street within the left hand lane of travel. While doing so the vehicle was traveling at a speed which was less than another vehicle which was overtaking, and did fail to enter the right lane closest to the curb to allow faster moving traffic to pass.

A traffic stop was affected on the motor vehicle in the area of Wynn Street and Lafayette Street; at which point the officer was able to ascertain the identity of the driver as being Carrie Ann Wolk of Cottondale. Wolk was unable to produce a state issued driver’s license when requested.

A validation check of Wolk’s information provided conformation of the suspension of her driver’s license. It was at this point, Wolk was taken into custody for driving with a suspended driver’s license on the roadways of the state of Florida.

During the course a search of her person, drug paraphernalia was recovered. An inventory of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of additional drug paraphernalia as well as methamphetamine and Dextroamphetamine pills. Firearm ammunition was also recovered from the vehicle, leading to the additional charge of a felon in possession of ammunition.

Carrie Ann Wolk was placed under arrest on the afore mentioned charges and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.

Chief Baggett urges the citizens of Marianna to report suspicious behavior and activities to the Marianna Police Department at (850) 526-3125.
