Traffic Stop Lands One in Jail

On 6-17-18 at approximately 14:46 p.m., two concerned citizens made contact with a Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and advised him of a motorcycle driving in a reckless manner and the driver may possibly be armed. A Deputy responded to the area and observed the motorcycle traveling south on Hwy 231.
Driving patterns of the subject were observed by a member of the Uniform Patrol Division of the Sheriff’s Office as the motorcycle continued travelled south on Hwy 231. A traffic stop was affected after he was observed speeding and driving in a careless manner.
The driver's information was provided to dispatch and a check through NCIC/FCIC revealed the driver's license was suspended/revoked. A warrants check revealed an active warrant out of Houston County, Alabama, for falure to appear. After extradition was confirmed, the driver, Richard A. Lisenby, was placed under arrest.
A tow truck was summoned and took possession of the motorcycle. Lisenby was lodged in the Jackson County Correctional facility to await first appearance. Once he has faced charges locally, he will be extradited to Houston County, Alabama.
