On 8-23-18, a Deputy with the Uniform Patrol Division at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office conducted a probable cause traffic stop on a Chevy pickup at the intersection of Sweet Pond Road and Highway 69 for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Tyler Neel.
During the course of the traffic stop, a check of his drivers license was conducted through NCIC/FCIC which showed Neel's license being suspended. Neel was knowingly operating the vehicle with a suspended drivers license and he failed to have the vehicle registered.
Neel was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended with knowledge and no vehicle motor registration. During an Officer safety pat down of Neel's person, a glass pipe was located in his pants pocket. The contents of the glass pipe was field tested and yielded positive results for Methamphetamine.
Neel was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
