Traffic Stop Lands one in Jail on Drug Charges

On August 30, 2017 a Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office observed a white in color four door sedan, traveling north bound on Brown Street in Graceville, Florida, with a shattered windshield obstructing the view of the driver. The Deputy then subsequently conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.


     While the Deputy was making contact with the driver of the vehicle he observed the front seat passenger, identified as Reginald Williams, attempting to conceal what appeared to be a “baggie” within his wallet. During conversation with the occupants of the vehicle, the Deputy smelt the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.


     The Deputy gained consent to search the vehicle and located a green leafy substance, identified as synthetic marijuana “K2” within Williams’ wallet. The green leafy substance did test presumptive positive for a synthetic stimulant. The Deputy also located an aluminum style device commonly used to inhale narcotics in an interior concealed compartment along with a crystallized substance, within a jewelry style bag, which field tested presumptive positive for Methamphetamine. Williams had told the Deputy the concealed compartment container inside the vehicle was his. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on his charges.

 Reginald Alphonso Williams, 51 years of age, Resident of Graceville, Florida


Charges:
 Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
