Traffic Stop Lands One in Jail on Drug Charges

On October 21, 2017, a Deputy with Patrol Division of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department was patrolling on River Road in Sneads. The Deputy observed a traffic infraction on a vehicle traveling South. The Deputy then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. As the Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as being, Casey Moore, he observed him conceal a hypodermic syringe, commonly used to inject illegal narcotics in one's body, in between the front passenger seat and the center console.
A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the following; in between the front passenger seat and center console a hypodermic syringe, with the needle bent. In the driver's side door panel a large spoon that contained a partially melted crystallized substance. The substance subsequently field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. In a black in color zip up bag, located behind the front passenger seat, two hypodermic syringes and a baggie containing a white residue were recovered. The residue also field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
As a result of this traffic stop and probable cause search, Casey Moore was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance.
Arrested: Casey Moore, 28 years of age, a resident of Blountstown, FL
Charges: (1) Possession of methamphetamine
(2) Possession of drug paraphernalia
