On 12/15/2018 at approximately 8:42 P.M. an officer with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a broken tail light in the area of Eva Mae St. near Saint James AME Church. The officer made contact with the driver and asked for identification.
The driver provided the name Adrian Gibson and a date of birth. The officer, who was familiar with Adrian Gibson through prior dealings with the Marianna Police Department, became aware that the subject was giving a false name. The officer then detained the driver, who eventually identified himself as Antwoin Davies. Davies was determined by Marianna Communications officer to have several active warrants for his arrest, as well as a suspended driver’s license. Davies was then placed under arrest.
Upon an inventory of the vehicle that Davies was driving, the officer located a Vera Wang eye glass holder on the driver’s side floorboard, inside the container the officer located twenty small baggies with white powder inside. Davies later admitted the baggies contained FLAKKA, also known as Alpha PVP, which is a controlled substance. The approximate weight of the narcotics came to be 1.2 grams. Davies stated the narcotics were packaged individually for sale.
Antwoin Davies was transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
