Traffic Stop Lands Three in Jail

MARIANNA: On January 27th, 2018 at approximately 9:46 PM, officers with the Marianna Police Department observed a gray in color Ford Crown Victoria, commit a moving traffic infraction in the area of Orange Street at Lafayette Street. Officers then conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle. Upon the officer’s approach, the odor of Marijuana was detected admitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted which led to the recovery of various illegal narcotics as well as a firearm.

The vehicle was occupied by a Gary Davis, Calvin Peterson, and Devorius Robinson. All three subjects were placed under arrest on separate charges. Gary Davis is facing criminal charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance Less than 20 Grams, Possession of Synthetic Cannibinoids, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Calvin Peterson is facing criminal charges for Possession of Controlled Substance Less than 20 Grams, Possession of Concealed Weapon without a Permit, and Violation of Probation. Devorius Robinson is facing criminal charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance Less than 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Probation.   All three subjects were transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
