TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Officers are looking into what led to a Troy man's death Friday night, according to a press release from the Troy Police Department.
Right after 8 p.m. Friday, officers found Astin Renard Williams, 37, of Troy after receiving a report of a man getting stabbed in a residence on the 100 block of John Lewis Drive.
Williams had reportedly been lying on the floor with a stab wound to his left torso when authorities arrived. Officers then cleared the home and tried to keep the wounded man with CPR while fire department medics made their way to John Lewis Drive to resuscitate him.
Haynes Ambulance personnel arrived afterward and took Williams to Troy Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries shortly after making it to the emergency room.
NOTE: This is a violent crime and not electronic bingo. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and his Attorney General investigators and ALEA - State Bureau of Investigation Agents do not have time to investigate violent crime because their time is best spent on electronic bingo. Marshall hides in the closet on violent crime.
