Tuesday Structure Fire In Elba

ELBA: ( Tuesday ). Tuesday morning, June 19, 2018, at approximately 2:30am, Elba Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Williams Street. Elba PD dispatchers advised the residence was fully involved and reported to be vacant. Units arrived to find a single story wood frame dwelling with heavy fire showing and immediately deployed a 2.5” attack line and 1.75 “ attack line to start defensive operations. New Brockton FD was requested for additional manpower due to the heat and humidity. Within a short amount of time the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Units operated on scene for several hours completing salvage and overhaul operations to fully extinguish all remaining hotspots. The home was confirmed vacant and there were no injuries due to this incident. We would like to thank everyone involved for all of their assistance to include, New Brockton FD, Coffee County EMS, Enterprise Dispatch, Elba Dispatch, and Elba PD Officers Duke and Hazel. We also owe a special Thank You to Ms. Sharon at The Ranch House for supplying our firefighters with a small breakfast at a moment’s notice.
