HOLMES COUNTY, Fla – Two men are charged with the intention of distributing methamphetamine following a recent traffic stop.

A Holmes County Sheriff’s Deputy observed that a car traveling south on Highway 177 had a windshield that was busted on the driver’s side.

A check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed the tag had been expired for more than a month.

The deputy activated his lights, and the car stopped on Monroe Paul Road. The deputy then made contact with the driver, identified as James Allen Yeomans, 34, of Enterprise, Alabama and his passenger, William D. Golden, 35, of Bonifay.

The deputy noticed a strong smell of marijuana in the car, and while questioning Yeomans about the odor, Yeomans advised he and Golden had been smoking methamphetamine.

Yeomans went on to state he is currently on probation in the state pf Alabama for drug possession and had been delivering drugs for someone else to make money to pay his probation fees.

Yeomans then emptied a purple cloth bag he had retrieved from on top of the car’s center console, revealing approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine individually packaged for sale, two digital scales, a torch, two glass smoking pipes, and a cigarette package containing a pill suspected to be ecstasy.

Yeomans and Golden are charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of narcotic equipment, and possession of ecstasy (MDMA).

Golden was arrested and booked into Holmes County.

Yeomans is currently in custody of Jackson County Jail on changes of violation of state probation and is awaiting extradition to Holmes County.
