Two Charged for Dealing in Stolen Property

On July 24, 2017, the Graceville Police Department received a call in reference to a generator being stolen from a local business’s warehouse. The business owner did run an ad in “The Graceville News” classified section in reference to the generator being stolen.
On August 8, 2017, a citizen showed up at the Graceville Police Department wanting to return the generator. The citizen advised that he had purchased the generator from two male subjects in Graceville back on the 24th.
Based on information learned from the citizen and other resources during the investigation, the Graceville Police Department was able to identify the two male subjects that had sold the stolen generator. The Graceville Police Department did apply for and was granted warrants to arrest the two male subjects.
On August 16, 2017, the Graceville Police Department along with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office went to locate the suspects on the active warrants. Jonathon Shipes was located walking on Payne St and arrested without incident. Jacob Pierce was located in the Holmes County Jail and a hold placed on him. Their charges are as follows:
