HOUSTON COUNTY: The Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief Association came together for their monthly meeting. These are the UNPAID PROFESSIONALS who serve their communities in emergency situations.
The Association is led by Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah who serves as President of the Association. Serving with Judah - Jimmy Posey from Ashford Fire who serves as Vice President and Wanda Andress of Wicksburg Fire serves as Secretary - Treasurer for the Association.
Attending tonight some 50 UNPAID PROFESSIONALS meeting to become better in the service to the community.
Joining tonight for the meeting are members of the EMS family across Houston County. Ashford, Columbia, Cottonwood, Rehobeth and Wicksburg EMS, and Houston County Rescue. While this is the “fire” Association EMA Director Judah extended the invitation for EMS to be a part of the Association. One family coming together to learn.
Director Judah asked Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza to begin training sessions with Fire and EMS for handling of emergency situations.
Sheriff Valenza had Sheriff Captain Donovan Arias, Commander of the Sheriff SWAT Team present ideas of working relationships Between law enforcement, Fire and EMS. How to make things work better should major or minor incidents flow better.
Joining Captain Arias was Sheriff Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle.
The future working relationships to better serve.
Regular attendees of the meetings are Houston County Commissioner Doug Sinquefield and Alabama Forestry Brady Dunn.
Director Judah spoke to the Fire and EMS about a recent outdoor fire where Dothan Fire and the UNPAID PROFESSIONALS worked together. Judah praised Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams and members of Dothan Fire and the Unpaid Professionals and how all worked together.
