MARCH 16 • SPRING FARM DAY 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Turn back the clock 100 years and experience living history demonstrations of blacksmithing, plowing with mules, traditional music and more. An official event of Alabama's Bicentennial. Sponsored by WOOF, WDHN, The Dothan Eagle, ServisFirst Bank, Wiregrass Electric and Houston County Farmers Federation. Adults $8; Seniors and Military $6; Kids $4; Park Members and Children 2 and under FREE. 

MARCH 21 • COMPASS NAVIGATION This program is for preregistered homeschool groups only. 9 a.m. –  11 a.m. In this technologically advanced world we live in today, fewer and fewer people know how to read a compass.  This skill, however, is just as important today as it was many years ago!  In this class, students will learn about the Earth’s magnetic field and how a compass works, as well as get a chance to build their own compass.  Students will then test their compass skills by navigating through our compass course here at the Park. $15 per child, $7.50 per adult or use your EdVenture Club Pass. MARCH 25-29 • SPRING BREAK ACTIVITIES Family friendly activities at 10 a.m. (see below for schedule), horse drawn wagon rides from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Planetarium Shows ($3 per person; free for park members) at 2:30 p.m. The Martin Drugstore will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with ice cream and drinks for sale. Regular gate admission applies ($4 for adults, $3 for kids, free for park members and children 2 and under). Registration required for the 10 a.m. programs. APRIL 1, APRIL 8 • SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION Day camps for kids ages 4-11. Members may register April 1; Nonmembers may register April 8. Camps run for one week each in June and July. See the catalog and register online at www.landmarkparkdothan.com. 

APRIL 6; MAY 4  • WIREGRASS WOODTURNER MEETING 9:30 a.m. Open to the public, free with paid gate admission and free for Wiregrass Woodturner members. Woodturning demonstrations will take place. Ag Building.

APRIL 20 • SACRED HARP SING The powerful sounds of Sacred Harp music will fill the air at the Headland Presbyterian Church. At 9:30a.m. there will be an abbreviated singing school for visitors unfamiliar with the Shape Note  (or Fasola) singing tradition. The sing will get underway at 10 a.m. The singers will gather under the spreading branches of a nearby live oak tree and enjoy a traditional dinner on the grounds from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a traditional covered dish and join in the fellowship. Free with paid gate admission and free for singers with a Sacred Harp Sing book. 

APRIL 21 • EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE 6 a.m. Gazebo lawn. Free admission. Nondenominational service provided by the Dothan Ministerial Union. Gates will close following the service and then reopen for regular park hours at noon. Bring your lawn chairs. In case of rain, the service will be held inside the Headland Presbyterian Church at Landmark Park. 

APRIL 27 • TREE ID WORKSHOP 10 a.m. Free with paid gate admission. Join veteran forester Ed Lewis on a tour of the park and learn about trees native to this area and their historic uses. Registration required, register online at www.landmarkparkdothan.com.  

MAY 4 • TOUCH A TRUCK 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Kids of all ages will have a chance to see big trucks and other pieces of equipment up close and learn about their uses. Quiet hour (no horns or loud noises) 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Adults $7; Kids $5; Park Members and Children 2 and under FREE.

MAY 12 • MOTHERS DAY ADMISSION SPECIAL Mothers accompanied by a child will received free admission. 

MAY 24-25 • A NIGHT AT THE PARK Overnight family camp out. $20 per person for members; $25 per person for nonmembers. Price includes dinner, s'mores, breakfast, overnight camping and staff led activities. Space is limited and registration is required. Visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com to register. 

MAY 25 • LEAFCUTTER BEE WORKSHOP 10 a.m. Join Philip Carter in the Interpretive Center Auditorium to learn all about this native pollinator. Free with paid gate admission. Registration required, visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com to register. 

Landmark Park is a 135-acre natural science and history museum located on the outskirts of Dothan. Regular park hours are Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for kids and free for park members and children 2 and under. Admission is higher for some special events. Become a member and receive free admission for a full year. Features of the park include nature trails, a planetarium, playground, picnic areas, an elevated boardwalk, a turn-of-the-century farmstead with chickens, cows and other farm animals and crops typical of an 1890s farm. In addition, the park includes the Martin Drugstore and Soda Fountain (Drugstore hours are Wed.-Sat., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sun. 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Closed Mon. and Tues.), one-room school, and historic church, all preserved from the surrounding area.
