Update on Last night's Motor Vheicle Accident at Reeves and Roney

On May 15th, 2017 at approximately 5:35 pm, the Dothan Police Department responded to the intersection of Reeves Street and Roney Road after receiving information of a two vehicle collision near Northview High School.
Investigators with the Dothan Police Department’s Traffic Division responded to the scene where a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle had collided into the rear corner of a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban that was stopped at the traffic light.
The driver of the Kawasaki was transported to Flower’s Emergency Room.
All occupants of the Chevrolet, to include the driver, were not injured at the time of the collision.
Just before midnight on May 15th, 2017, the driver of the Kawasaki, Mathew Phillip Johnson of Midland City, Alabama, was pronounced deceased by Flower’s Hospital staff.
The crash is still in the preliminary stage of the investigation with the Traffic Division.
The Dothan Police Department would like to express our condolences to the family of Mathew in their time of loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties involved in this tragedy.
