Update on Shooting in Jackson County on Friday

On Friday January 26, 2018 approximately 8:30 pm the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a six year old male shot at a residence on Townhouse Dr. The child was airlifted and transported to Sacred Heart where he is reported to be in critical condition.


During the investigation it was determined that a family member had accidently fired the handgun.  It was also found that child’s Mother’s paramour, Jaquarius M. White, is a convicted felon and was charged with felon in possession of a firearm. 


The incident is still pending further investigation with other possible charges pending.  More information will be released as the investigation progresses.
