Homing Pigeons has been canceled. Red Tail Hawk program will be offered in its place.

Due to a medical emergency, our Animal Adventures: Homing Pigeon program has been canceled. BUT we are excited to have Jatin Patel present a program on the red-tailed hawk in its place.

If you are already registered for the Homing Pigeon program and you would like to attend the Hawk program, no further action is needed. If you would like to cancel or change your reservation, please let me know at 334-794-3452 or [email protected]. There is still room for new registrations! Visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com to register. Due to space constraints, registration is required.

Animal Adventures are special one-hour programs that provide a unique opportunity to learn about our natural world. Guest presenters will bring native and exotic animals and give kids a chance to see the wonders of nature. Programs take place in the Interpretive Center Auditorium and are perfect for ages 5 and older and families. The Hawk program will be on Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. Animal Adventures are free with paid gate admission ($4 for adults, $3 for kids, free for park members and children 2 and under. Due to Blue Star Museum participation, admission is also free for active military and up to five family members with proper ID through Labor Day).

Landmark Park is a 135-acre natural science and history museum located on the outskirts of Dothan. Regular park hours are Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Become a member and receive free admission for a full year. Features of the park include nature trails, a planetarium, playground, picnic areas, an elevated boardwalk, a turn-of-the-century farmstead with sheep, chickens, cows and other farm animals and crops typical of an 1890s farm. In addition, the park includes the Martin Drugstore and Soda Fountain (Drugstore hours are Wed.-Sat., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sun. 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Closed Mon. and Tues.), one-room school, general store, and historic church, all preserved from the surrounding area. Several areas of the park are available for rent for your special occasion.

The park is located on U.S. Hwy 431 North, three miles north of Dothan’s Ross Clark Circle.  For more info and to become a member, call 334-794-3452 or visit  www.landmarkparkdothan.com
