DOTHAN:   10:57 PM.  A Dothan Police officer notified Dothan 911 he had a person that had just been shot. The officer WAS NOT involved in the shooting.

The shooting location was Lake and Allen Road. The officer reported it appeared the victim was shot in the head. Reported subject was breathing but unresponsive.

Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance were responding.

A suspect was spotted on Canary Street running. A quick perimeter was established.

At 11:01 PM a Dothan Officer reported the suspect had crashed at Lake and Canary Street. The officer confirmed the person who wrecked was in fact the person that was running.

Dothan Police called for another Dothan Fire unit to respond for the shooting suspect who was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Again no Dothan Offixer was involved in the accident.

The person who wrecked was “one” of the people who the officer saw flee from the scene. That person is saying he was a victim and not a suspect.

Dothan Police are holding tight on the perimeter. A criminal

investigator has been called to the scene. Dothan Police arevrapidly trying to put the puzzle together to determine the facts. Right now all is rapidly developing.

The person shot in the head is deceased on the scene. Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators are in the scene or rolling to the scene.

Dothan Police have one “possible” suspect in custody. Officers are attempting to put the puzzle together to determine the facts.

Dothan Police Captain Will Benny and a team of criminal Investigators have multiple witnesses at Dothan Police Department - Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators are attempting to put the puzzle together of the chain of events of tonight.
