GENEVA COUNTY:   9:59 PM.  Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms and other law enforcement agencies are searching for a reported escape prisoner. The area of search is off County Road 49 near New Hinson Church at County Road 81.


Not many details are known at this time.

Alabama State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident near New Hinson Church in Fadette in Geneva County. The time of the accident was about 6:45 PM.


After the Troopers arrived they quickly determined the vehicle and suspect were wanted in connection with a recent car jacking from Walmart in dothan.


The suspect bolted into the woods.


Geneva County Sheriff K-9 was deployed. Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms was on the scene. Dothan CID Commander Lt. Will Glover and members of CID were on the scene and Dothan Police K-9 officers were deployed. Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and the Sheriff SRT Team was deployed as was Dale County Sheriff Deputies.


Dale County Sheriff air unit was also deployed.


The area where the K-9's were deoyed is a very wet area and the K-9's and officers were sinking in thick mud.


At the time of this writing the search is on going.
