LEVEL PLAINS:   3:05 PM.   Received multiple calls there has been a heavy police prescience in Level Plains. As we understand from

multiple sources officers from multiple agencies converged on Level Plains. Witnesses reports the Level Plains Police Chief was taken into law enforcement custody.

Level Plains Police Chief Billy Driggers was reports to hve been taken into custody by Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - State Bureau of Investigation Division, Dale Countu Sheriff Department and a or some Florida Law Enforcement Agency or Agencies.

We are working to determine the details. Witness observed Florida agencies, either being Panama City Police, or Panama City Beach Police or Bay County Sheriff Deputies. At this time we have not been able to confirm.

Witnesses overheard it was on an out of state warrant or warrant(s).

Working on more details. At this time Driggers is

not showing up on Dale County Jail web site if that is where he is being transported. Level Plains

is in Dale County.

As more details develop we will update.

Driggers has been Chief of Level Plains for around two years. He has worked for several law enforcement agencies in the area.

Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum has confirmed they assisted Panama City Beac Police in arrest of the Level Plains Police Chief. Chief Bynum could no could not

comment further and additional information would have to

come from Panama City Beach Police.

Panama City Beach, Fla. - An Alabama police chief is accused of masturbating in public while in Panama City Beach. 

Panama City Beach Police arrested Billy Maurice Driggers, 44, Thursday and charged him with four counts of disorderly conduct. Officers wrote in a news release that Driggers was seen masturbating in elevators with other people and also while following teenage girls on the beach on Tuesday.
