HOUSTON COUNTY: 4:14 AM. Houston County Sheriff 911 woke up the Wicksburg Fire - Rescue VOLUNTEER UNPAID PROFESSIONALS to respond to a motor vehicle accident in the 14800 block of Highway 84.
Reports of a vehicle in the ditch with possible injuries.
So these dedicated men and women have left the warmth of their beds in cool house to get into their personal vehicle to drive to the station to get the emergency vehicle in order to render aid and save lives.
The Houston County Commissioners support them. While other high paid officials are tucked nicely in their beds asleep awaiting on time they can draw their six figure salary in retirement the remainder of their lives.
At 4:21 AM Wicksburg Fire - Rescue is on the scene reporting a female passed out on the scene. Unknown if injured or they have been drinking the alcohol sold by the Alabama Governor and Legislators.

Wicksburg Volunteer Rescue departed the scene running emergency with patient to Flowers Hospital.

Wicksburg Rescue Volunteers have just left Flowers Hospital at 5:57 AM on their way back to Wicksburg. They now have to clean, re-stock the ambulance and fuel it to be ready for the next call.

In 2018, January 1 through the end of July over 2,000 EMS calls have been answered by volunteers in Houston County. Pilcher Ambulance has made about 32% of those over 2,000 calls in Houston County.
