DOTHAN: 7:22 PM. Multiple Houston Coonty Sheriff Deputies are on the scene of Houston County Jail where a female corrections officer has been assaulted. The original call was “female officer down”.
As Dothan Fire arrived Houston County Corrections Officers were flagging fire to come on into the jail. Multiple deputies are on the scene. All is under control.
The correctional officer is being transported to the hospital.
UNCONFIRMED reports the correctional officer was possibly stabbed....

The corrections officer was stabbed. About a two
inch laceration. No more details known at this time.

The female corrections officer was not stabbed as the first information. The inmate assaulted the corrections officer with a food tray by hitting her upside the head.
