DOTHAN:   07:29 AM.      DOTHAN Police and Dothan Fire made contact with a person unresponsive in the 100 block of Morgan Street. That call developed into Dothan Police going to Arlington Street and Pettis Street.

The victim at 100 block of Morgan Street has been transported by Dothan Police Department after being treated by Dothan Fire.

The residence and area surrounding Arlington Street and Pettit Street have been sealed off with crime scene Tape. Multiple Dothan Police units are on the scene along with Dothan Police Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Investigators.

The case is being treated as a murder at this time. Details are sketchy as Police are in the beginning stages of the investigation attempting to place all pieces of the puzzle together.

As details develop we will update.

We do understand the call started as an Assault with moderate injuries. When Dothan Police arrived they requested Dothan Fire to step it up and change to a serious critical injury assault.

From that point Dothan Police placed crime scene tape at 304 Pettus Street as a crime scene and Criminal Investigators were called in.

Update: The victim has been identified as 59 year old Neil Craft Barber of Pettus St. in Dothan.

Update: One suspect is in custody at this time and is charged with the murder of Neil Barber. The Investigation is on going and we will not rule out additional arrest(s).

UPDATE:

Murder Investigation *Update # 3

The Dothan Police Department is currently conducting a murder investigation in a central Dothan neighborhood. Police discovered the body of a male victim on Pettus St. early this morning. Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Technicians are on the scene. It is very early in the investigation and details will be released when appropriate.

Update #2: One suspect is in custody at this time and is charged with the murder of Neil Barber. The Investigation is on going and we will not rule out additional arrest(s).

Dothan Police Investigators have charged Dentavious Jamal Givens with Murder.

Update #3: Dothan Police investigators have also charged Jatavion Lakeldrick Collins, with Murder.

Both individuals arrested are being held with no bond.
