District Attorney Tom Anderson is pleased to announce that an arrest has been made in a Double-Homicide case where two men were killed in their residence in 2007. According to the District Attorney:
The Enterprise Police Department, working in conjunction with the State Bureau of Investigation’s Cold Case Unit, would like to announce an arrest in connection to a double-homicide from October of 2007 in Enterprise.
Robert Aaron “Bobby” Hvarven, 41, formerly of Enterprise, was arrested and charged with Capital Murder indictment in the early hours of the morning today.
Hvarven was arrested for the murders of James Matthew Helms and Scott Allen Heib from October 2007. Both men were found murdered in the residence they shared on County Road 622 by Helms’s sister whom was checking on her brother after he and Heib failed to show up for work at U.S. Helicopter in Ozark.
Hvarven was an immediate suspect in the investigation from the start, but, sufficient probable cause to charge Hvarven could not be established. The investigation gained momentum in 2014 with the discovery of new evidence, but, an arrest was still not warranted at the time.
Then, in October of 2017, Enterprise was joined by the state Cold Case Unit and the investigation began to move forward. After almost a year of hard work and determination, the investigators were able to develop new information and leads that led to a Coffee County Grand Jury issuing the Capital Murder Indictment.
Hvarven was arrested at his residence in Dothan by the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force and transported back to Coffee County Jail to await arraignment.
