HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning investigators with the Houston County Sheriff's Office are working a shooting that occurred somewhere in Houston County. Around 1:30 am this morning a man walked into a Dothan hospital with a gun shot wound.


However the victim is not saying much about the shooter or where it occurred. No more information is available at the time.

On October 16, 2017, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local hospital to a report of a Firearm Assault that occurred in the 1200 Block of State Line Rd. in Madrid.


Gary Ladon Godwin, a 40 year old black male of Slocomb, AL was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree. Godwin was placed in the Houston County Jail with a bond of $5,000.00.
