HOUSTON COUNTY: Ashford Police, Ashford Fire and Ashford Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident at US 84 and Rocky Creek Road. Reports are one person was entrapped.

Ashford Fire requested Cowarts be dispatched for man power with the extraction but canceled them shortly after getting the victim free. By standers on the scene lifted the vehicle in order to remove the victim from the wreckage.

Ashford Rescue transported the victim and requested Dothan Fire Medics respond or a Trauma Alert. Dothan Fire and Ashford intercepted at Efurd’s in Cowarts. Dothan Fire, when they enter the ambulance, makes the ambulance advanced life support.

Ashford Police called for Dothan Police Crash Team to Respond due to the seriousness of the injuries.

Houston County Sheriff’s Department assisted and Alabama State Trooper Shane Rogers assisted.

Pictures are being withheld for a few due to seriousness of injuries and making sure the family is notified.

We have confirmed with Houston County Corner Robert Byrd that one person has died as a result of the accident this morning.
