HODGESVILLE: It is with great sadness that I announce the 16 year old young
Man struck by lightning on Willie Varnum Road passed away at SAMC.
Just want to let each of you know this call went like clock work for this child to have every opportunity possible.
Hodgesville Vol Fire mutual aid Dothan as soon as they arrived and determined CPR in progress. David Fondo, a volunteer and Hodgesville Fireman worked on him. Mike Stacey with Sheriff Department jumped in helping with CPR. Cottonwood Rescue arrived and backboard and stretcher out immediately.
EMA directed Dothan Fire and what route to take so they would intersect with ambulance if they left before Dothan Fire arrived. Dothan Fire arrived before ambulance arrived and got in ambulance working on the young man.
The Sheriff Dept. And Director Judah and other deputies ran ahead of ambulance clearing the intersections so the ambulance did not have to stop and wait for intersections to stop.
The system worked. The child had all opportunities possible but GOD had other plans.
