UPDATED at 8:43 AM... Southeast Alabama Medical Center - Once Again - Complete Hospital Diversion

DOTHAN:    Since 1 AM the Southeast Alabama Medical Center has been on " COMPLETE HOSPITAL DIVERSION ". That means no patient could be accepted at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

The Colorado Executive, Rick Sutton, brought in by the Board of Directors to manage SAMC feels he is above returning phone calls. Attempts to contact Rick Sutton were not successful a few weeks ago when there were no vascular surgeons.

A man came into the emergency room with stab wounds to the neck. SAMC could

not treat him and he was transported by ambulance to Pensacola Florida. Pressure had to be held on the wound because no vascular surgeon.

Through investigation I had obtained Sutton’s cell phone number and left a message for him to contact me In efforts to find out why, when SAMC has a sign " Heart and Vascular " were they no vascular surgeons.

SUTTON got the message but feels to important to answer such questions that are important to the public.

There are a lot of troubling questions involving Sutton’s management and how he is treating the responders and medical staff. And I am risking loosing them as an advertiser. You know people of Sutton’s importance do not like for questions to be asked.

But lives are far to important to me than the advertising dollars. And complete hospital diversion, no vascular surgeons, not allowing doctors on their payroll to go to Flowers Hospital when needed.

Question:  so if you are not taking patients but have a doctor that is needed life is not important enough to allow the specialized physician to go to Flowers if needed?

Important questions. But Sutton is to important to return phone calls for answers.

Just recieved word that SAMC has just came OFF complete Diversion.
