HOUSTON COUNTY: Around 6:10 PM... Houston County Deputies, ALEA ( Alabama State Troopers) and Ashford Police responded to a shots fired call near Old 84 and Bluff Spring Road. When units arrived a male ran into the house and refuses to come back out.

Law Enforcement on scene are trying to make contact with the subject and get him to come out to them.

The stand-off continues in Ashford, the man is still refusing to surrender but Law Enforcement is still trying to talk the man out.

The stand off is over, the suspect is in custody and no one was hurt. Good job to all Law Enforcement involved.

As we reported the stand-off is over and everyone is okay. Houston County Commissioner Doug Sinquefield was also on scene and stood by until it was over. One of the elderly residence next to the suspect's home had to be evacuated and Sinquefield let her stay in his truck while the incident unfolded. Commissioner Sinquefield is ALWAYS supporting the emergency services ( law enforcement-fire-EMS ) when emergencies occur in a distant and never in the way supportive role.

Dale County Air Support was enroute but was canceled. ALEA's mobile command vehicle was on the scene assisting with the operation.

Ashford Rescue was on the scene. They were called to the residence for a patient check. Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management was on the scene.

UNCONFIRMED by officials, the suspect "possibly" fired shots into the residence but that has not been officially confirmed.

The suspect has been Identified as Christopher George Knight.
