CHANGES: Snow accumulation amounts have been increased to now reference up to an inch of snow mainly in Southeast Alabama and far Southwestern Georgia. No other significant adjustments have been made to the forecast at this time. All winter weather advisories remain in effect as discussed on the 930 am ET webinar. SYNOPSIS: An arctic cold front will sweep through the region late tonight. Expect enough moisture to be present for precipitation to mix with and change to light snow across portions of the area.
WHAT: Light rain mixing with snow and changing to snow across portions of the area.
WHERE: Light snow is expected across southeast Alabama, inland portions of the Florida Panhandle and Southwestern Georgia.
AMOUNTS: Up to an inch possible in Southeast Alabama and a dusting to 0.5 inches possible in Southwest Georgia as well as in the far inland Florida Panhandle, west of the Apalachicola River and north of Interstate 10.
TIMING: Around midnight tonight through 9 AM local time Wednesday.
IMPACTS: Some slick spots could develop on bridges and overpasses.
