HOUSTON COUNTY:     10:37 AM    Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched deputies and EMS to a medical emergency about 9:30 AM at 6684 South County 81 in the Lucy Community.

Sheriff 911 instructed Cottonwood Rescue to "stage" which meant do not approach the residence until which time Sheriff Deputies cleared the scene.

After all emergency units arrived law enforcement cleared the scene and instructed the EMS they did not need to enter the scene.

As we understand a body was found in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound and possible other signs of violence.

Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Unit is on the scene. Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza is on the scene.

The Sheriff Department is not releasing many details at this time.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza has identified the murder victim as white male Steven Dozier.

Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators have spent the day processing the crime scene and putting information together in the investigation into the death of Mr. Dozier.

Reports, UNCONFIRMED WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT, are Mr. Dozier died as a result of gunshot wounds.

Sheriff Valenza and team members throughout all divisions of the Houston County Sheriff Department are conducting the investigation.

Sheriff Valenza has one policy he is absolutely extremely strict on with no exceptions...when a murder "all hands on the deck". Which means everyone works until solved.

The Sheriff, as he should, is limited on details being released at this time.
