Which Is More Important? Violent Crime or Electronic Bingo

ALABAMA: If someone can find former Alabama Governor Bob Riley they will probably find Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall's head stuck up his buttocks. If someone can get Marshall's head unstuck, and wipe his eyes where he can see clearly, hopefully he can understand.

AG Marshall is fussing like a little child because Jefferson County's new Sheriff, Mark Pettway does not want Jeffferson County to continue to go to hell like former Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale was letting it go.

You see, for a number of years Birmingham Police Chief and Mayor denied it but the numbers showed it, Birmingham is the murder capital of Alabama. It is dangerous.

Birmingham is in Jefferson County. The Sheriff of a county, not the Attorney General, not ALEA Secretary, not the District Attorney, not the Chief of police, but the SHERIFF is the CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER of the county.

AG Marshall, that means you are not but the Sheriff if.

While apparently AG Marshall is not worried about all of the violent crime in this state, he is only worried about electronic bingo. That could be because of the Indian money funneled to campaign coffers.

But the new Jefferson County Sheriff has the backbone to say, hey folks, I am committed to using resources to combat violent crime and illegal drug traffic. He also wants to increase officer presence in all neighborhoods.

Then you have to see the stupidity of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall in his comparison of Sheriff Pettway and former Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale who has let Jefferson County go to hell -"he ( Steve Marshall ) don't understand why former Sheriff Mike Hale had the resources to enforce state law against illegal gambling and Pettway does not."

It is real simple, look at the violent crime that is running away across this state, especially in Jefferson County. And it is not because of bingo.

Former Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale did not honor the dignity and respect of his badge in protecting the citizens and guests of Jefferson County as Chief Law Enforcement Officer, rather he used his resources on electronic bingo.

And AG Marshall, when you finally get your head out of Bob Riley's buttocks, perhaps you can see clear and focus on stopping the violent crime in Alabama, which is literally killing children, young people and adults.

I realize that I am not real smart. But even I can figure out what is the priority...stopping violence and deaths over electronic bingo. Use your resources wisely.

CHALLENGE TO AG STEVE MARSHALL...give up your executive security protection and walk the streets of Jefferson County ( Birmingham ) where all of these shootings and murders are occurring. Then you can understand why Sheriff Pettway has his focus on violent crime over bingo.

But you live in a protected world with Executive Security driving you around, where it takes many staff members, x-ray machines and searches to allow anyone into the Attorney General's offices. If lucky enough to enter the inner sanctuary where your office is key cards that are specially encrypted are required just to touch your garments.

Perhaps get into the real world the people of Jefferson County ( Birmingham ) are facing and you will understand more. I bet you do not have the backbone to do it.

JUST CAN NOT UNDERSTAND

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall told Channel 13’s Sara Killian that he does not understand why former Sheriff Mike Hale had the resources to enforce state law against illegal gambling and Pettway does not.

Marshall said he has talked to Sheriff Pettway and has informed in writing that he will not act to enforce the law the Attorney General’s office is prepared to do so.

The sheriff’s office said bingo offenses are misdemeanors and that Sheriff Mark Pettway is committed to using resources to combat violent crime and illegal drug traffic. He also wants to increase officer presence in all neighborhoods.

When illegal activity is unchallenged and allowed to thrive, our state’s entire legal system is undermined.”

“Should local agencies in other jurisdictions fail to enforce State laws on gambling, my office will take action as needed to hold the perpetrators accountable,” Marshall said.

It is a much different situation in Jefferson County where Marshall has expressed frustration with the job performance of new Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway.

Funny, I just learned I am blocked from Sheriff Pettway's Twitter and support him. Do not know him but I support stopping the violent crime and agree the resources are better on fighting violent crime.
