On Saturday, October 7th, Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity will be raising the walls in Dothan with Coleman Worldwide Moving employees for the Blake family at 203 Lagrand Drive.

Coleman Worldwide Moving employees and other volunteers will work hand in hand with the Blake family, who will move out of their substandard living situation and into a home of their own with their three children.  Before moving into their new home, the Blakes will have devoted 500 hours of sweat equity to their home and other Habitat homes, as well as completed 50 hours of classes such as financial management, home maintenance, budgeting and home ownership.

Amy Schutz, Executive Director of Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity, explained “This wall raising day is going to be such a special day. The volunteers from Coleman Worldwide Moving who helped pay for the home along with The Coleman Family Foundation and built the walls will be the ones to raise them Saturday. They will work alongside the Blakes to continue the work they began earlier this week on World Habitat Day.”

The achievement of a Habitat home for the Blake family would not be possible without the generosity of local businesses and groups.  We would like to thank the following for working with us to make this dream possible for them:  Coleman Worldwide Moving, The Coleman Family Foundation, Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity Women Build, Custom Roofing and Construction and Lowe’s.
