Woman's body found in Tuscaloosa County woods; investigation underway

An investigation is underway after a woman's body was discovered in a Tuscaloosa County wooded area midday Monday.
Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Kip Hart said the body was discovered by a worker checking a gas well off of Watermelon Road and Phelps Road. The discovery was made about 25 yards down a dirt road.
The woman is believed to be white or Latina in her late teens or early 20's. Hart said investigators and crime scene specialists remain at the site.
