HEADLAND: On 02/22/2019 at approximately 12:45pm Chief Investigator Chris Watson and Investigator Derrick Mize of The Headland Police Department attempted a traffic stop on Solomon Road on a 2004 Ford Explorer. When officers initiated their emergency lights the vehicle fled east on Solomon road.

A chase was initiated through the south side of town, with the vehicle wrecking on West King Street. Two subjects exited the vehicle and were apprehended at the scene. During the chase subjects threw a large plastic bag and a loaded firearm out of the vehicle. A Headland patrol unit observed the items and stopped with the items and Investigators collected the evidence. The items recovered were approximately 1021 grams of synthetic marijuana and a 40 caliber semi automatic pistol.

Arrested was Jerry Young B/M 24 years of age of Dothan, Al. Mr. Young was charged with Trafficking in Synthetic Marijuana, Attempting to elude, Reckless endangerment, carrying concealed weapon, leaving scene of accident and numerous traffic citations..

Also arrested was Contravius Parks B/M 22 years of age of Dothan, Al. Mr. Parks was charged with Trafficking in Synthetic Marijuana, carrying concealed weapon and attempting to elude. Mr. Young was booked into the Henry County Jail with bonds totaling $261,000.00. Mr. Parks was also booked into the Henry County Jail with bonds totaling $260,000.00.

A 2004 Ford Explorer was also seized and impounded. This recovery was due to the professional and outstanding work of these officers.

On January 7, 2019 Chief Investigator Chris Watson of the Headland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on US 431 South on a Lincoln MKZ. During the stop Investigator seized 121 grams of Synthetic marijuana. Arrested and charged with Trafficking of Synthetic Marijuana was Jermony Rhodes B/M 33 years of age of Dothan, Al.

Mr. Rhodes was booked into the Henry County Jail on bonds totaling $150,000.00. Also seized in the arrest was a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. This recovery was due to the professional and outstanding work of these officers.
