12:18 PM. Subject Firing Weapon At Vehicle Chases - Crashes

DOTHAN:  12:18 PM.  Dothan 911 received a call that two subjects in a BMW was shooting at another vehicle. Subjects were approaching the Dothan Post Office on Burdeshaw Street.

The subjects turned north on Oates Street. I was at Powell and Oates, saw the vehicles and heard the gunfire.

The Suspect vehicle turned west on Powell and to Montana Street where officers had Chickasaw and Montana blocked.

Dothan Police got behind the suspect vehicle at a residence. The suspect vehicle went through the yard and east on Chickasaw Street.

The Suspect Vehicle went towards McRae Homes. Dothan Officers reported the passenger kept opening the door as if to jump out.

The vehicle came out on Oates and went north to Montgomery Highway. At Park Avenue turned north then jumped back to Denton Road.

The Suspect crossed Ross Clark Circle at Denton Road, Still northbound at speeds of close to 100 MPH.

When The Suspect reaches Dale County Road 10 they turned west off Denton Road. As the suspect vehicle reached Dale County road 10 and Napier Field the right door opened and a female jumped from vehicle.

The Suspect Vehicle turned south on Napier Field Road then turning south on Montgomery Highway.

The Suspect Vehicle went through Arby’s to Plum Road to Montgomery Highway. The auspect traveled south in the northbound lane to

Murphy Mill Road at Walmart. As the suspect went flying around the curve on Murphy Mill Road at the entrance to Oates Wstates he lost it and wrecked.

Subject was taken into custody. Dothan Fire were called to check the suspect.

Assisting Dothan Police: Houston County Sheriff Department, Alabama State Troopers, Napier Field Police and Midland City Police.

The condition of the female that jumped from the car is not known at this time. The suspect vehicle had Georgia license plates.

Dothan Police continue investigation.
