HOUSTON COUNTY: On Tuesday afternoon Houston County Sheriff 911 rolled units to a armed robbery on HIghway 84 West at the Chevron at Bay Springs.
Within 30 seconds of call being dispatched a deputy was on the scene. But the robbery had occurred about 5 minutes before it was called in. The delay was the clerk in shock of what had just occurred.
Multipe deputies and investigators flocked the scene and area. Information developed rapidly.
Lt. Arias was scene with fingerprint dust all over the window of the building.
Multiple investigators and Napier Field Police Chief Jimmy Singleton checked suspects in Napier Field. They were ruled out.
A BOLO was issued for a white male with red hair, app. 6', last seen wearing a green hoodie and plaid shorts, and the suspect last seen driving a box style UHAUL.
About 3 AM the BOLO was cancelled, suspect in custody. So I "assume" from that the robbery has been solved. All of the investigators have gone home so I will not text at 3:30 AM but I feel like the case has been solved.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had multiple investigators assigned on the path of working solely on this case. The quick deployment, during the flooding rain, allowed their quick suspect identification, location and arrest.
